The Workshop “PAYT in Portugal … the next steps!”, held in the auditorium of the Portuguese Roman Museum in Sicó (PO.RO.S), in Condeixa-a-Nova, on November 21, attracted the interest of national and foreign companies and municipalities, namely Greece, Spain, France, Italy and Ireland, and it has exceeded the pre-determined maximum number of 100 participants. The public was mostly composed of representatives and technicians of City Halls and Municipal Companies (61), followed by representatives of technology companies (16), academy (10), “Upstream” systems (7) and consulting companies (5). In the public policy sector, the event was attended by representatives of the regulatory agency ERSAR and the central and local administration.
The event, organized in partnership with the Condeixa-a-Nova City Council and the IPC, was held simultaneously with a PAYT Equipment Exhibition and was an opportunity for national and international speakers to exchange experiences on which model to follow. The Exhibition hosted four companies with representation in Portugal and two Irish companies that presented and exhibited their products and technology development tools available for PAYT systems.
