The PAYT project, which was nominated in the “Efficient Resource Management” category, was distinguished with an Honorable Mention this Monday at the Green Project Awards that took place in Serralves, Porto.
This project results from a partnership between VITRUS AMBIENTE and Guimarães City Council aiming to encourage waste separation and the introduction of sustainable and environmentally friendly habits.
Of the four projects from Guimarães that reached the competition final in different categories, three received prominence. In addition to PAYT, the hydraulic project for Retention Basins in the Gardens also received an Honorable Mention and the EcoPontas & PapaChicletes project, promoted by Laboratório da Paisagem, won the Social Innovation Award category of the Green Project Awards. It should be noted that Guimarães was the municipality with the most nominations in the competition.
The Green Project Awards is an international project promoted in partnership with local governments. Among other things, it intends to reward and recognize good practices in projects that promote sustainable development, creating awareness among civil society towards the importance of environmental, economic and social balance.
