Workshop on “Sustainable waste management” organized by the National Technical University of Athens and Vrilissia Municipality

On the 20th of December 2021, a workshop under the thematic of “Sustainable waste management” targeting academics, researchers and students was organized by the National Technical University of Athens in collaboration with Vrilissia Municipality. To this end, representatives of all academic level of the National Technical University of Athens, as well as representatives of the Association of Secondary Education Officers of Athens B’ Department were invited. Residents from Forca-Vouga neighborhood, in Aveiro, join LIFEPAYT Project

On October 15th and 19th, approximately a month after the installation of the new PAYT waste containers in the Forca-Vouga neighborhood in Aveiro, the LIFEPAYT project team made a photographic survey of the situation (see situation of 25 containers on the day 15 and day 19  of October). 2nd edition of the Training Action in Home Composting took place on Saturday, in Aveiro

The 2nd edition of the Training Action in Home Composting took place on Saturday, September 26, at Bairro da Forca-Vouga, in Aveiro. The action counted on the participation of residents who live in houses and who received the composting kit, as well as other residents who are already making composting but who have doubts about the process and need technical support. 2nd Training Course on Domestic Composting in the Urbanization of Forca-Vouga (Aveiro)

It will take place on September 26 (Saturday), from 10 am to 11:30 am, outdoors, at Rua da Guiné Bissau, in Aveiro. Follow-up visits to Domestic Composting users in the Forca-Vouga Urbanization, in Aveiro

LIFEPAYT Project is conducting follow-up visits to residents who have joined domestic composting scheme, at Urbanização da Forca-Vouga, in Aveiro, on the 5th and 12th of September. These residents received composting kits and were trained by Maria José Valinhas. The objective is to provide assistance, improve the composting process and motivate participants. At the end of September, the 2nd edition of the domestic composting training course will be held, in this neighborhood of Aveiro.

Reactivation of PAYT containers and presence of the Ecoquiosque in the Urbanization of Forca-Vouga

Containers with access control at Urbanização da Forca-Vouga are being reactivated in this late summer 2020. The devices now have a more robust lid, drum and a wider opening. These changes allow a better handling, hence controlling waste deposition volume. At the same time a ECOQUIOSQUE is installed, next to the parking lot at Rua Dr. Orlando Oliveira, where residents can collect a copy of the PAYT card and get more information regarding LIFEPAYT project. LIFE PAYT project, in Aveiro, moves forward with the reinstallation of containers in the Urbanization of Forca-Vouga

During the month of August, the Municipality of Aveiro resumed the pilot experience with the 26 containers with access control in the Urbanization of Forca Vouga, within the scope of the LIFE PAYT project – see full story here. In the first phase of testing, mechanical problems delayed PAYT implementation but have been solved by now with a more robust and easy to use set of containers. LIFE PAYT project promotes an information campaign for the residents in Vrilissia

In June 2020, the municipality of Vrilissia (in Greece) promoted an information, awareness and active citizen participation campaign in the demonstration area of ​​the LIFEPAYT Project. For this purpose, leaflets explaining the PAYT system that will be implemented in this area were distributed to residents, as well as demonstrations were carried out closed to the containers to show how  this equipment should be used.
