Removal of containers for mixed waste due to problems with the rotating drum
The 26 PAYT waste containers installed since May 22, 2018, as part of the project LIFE PAYT in Bairro da Forca in Aveiro, were removed on September 14th, 2018, and the testing phase initially planned is now suspended.
The option to remove these containers was due to some problems that occurred with the rotating drum where the waste is deposited, which often jammed making it impossible for residents to use the container. It will now be necessary to rethink the design of the controlled access of these PAYT containers, hoping that in the short term it will be possible to solve the problems encountered and to resume the testing phase in this pilot area of the LIFEPAYT project.
