Workshop on “Biowaste Diversion” organized by the National Technical University of Athens

On the 18th of November, a workshop focusing on the diversion of the biodegradable waste from landfills was organized by the National Technical University of Athens in line with LIFE PAYT project. Representatives from the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment of Cyprus, as well as Larnaka Municipality gave thorough presentations focusing on the possible ways of diverting biowaste from landfills. Set of environmental indicators for the LIFE-PAYT project are now defined

During the LIFE PAYT project, a set of indicators will be used to measure the environmental performance of the various actions. The selection of indicators was carried out by a team from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC) in collaboration with the project partners, the National Technical University of Athens and the Local Authorities involved.
